My youngest daughter

I am staying true to my word and really digging down into my “Stash”.  This is “For the Record” by Echo Park.  My youngest daughter is quite a tom boy so I don’t use pinks or any other “girly” colors on her layouts.  This kit was perfect for her and she loved the layout.

ImageAh you ladies all know what it is like to love someone so much it almost hurts!  That’s what I feel for my kids.  This kid is an exceptionally “good” person.  Her teacher thinks she will change the world!

Cheers and do unto others what you would have them do unto you!

Simple Stories

I was looking through my “stash” this past weekend and rediscovered a Simple Stories Summer Fresh kit that I picked up last year.  I had used it for one layout but other than that the kit was intact.  This kit is probably my all time favorite.  It contains a ton of embellishments / stickers and journalling cards.   I decided to use it for some “Simple Stories” of my life.

This is my oldest daughter.  She loved our little photo shoots and would sit for long periods of time for me to get everything set up.

This is a layout of my beautiful granddaughter.  Her mom bought her a small wading pool last summer and she loved splashing around.  Look at that face, make no wonder I have fallen head over heals in love with her!

Have a wonderful day everyone and remember that everytime you smile, you make someone else’s day brighter!

A Funny Bunny

My little granddaughter is definitely the light of my life.  I try to keep all her layouts pretty childish so they fit the age that she is.  Scrapbooking her is simply amazing and I’m smiling the entire time.Image

I used a sketch from the April Sketch Challenge over at My Creative Scrapbook.  Check it out, some amazingly talented ladies.

Basketball star

My youngest daughter has discovered a love for basketball.  She was old enough to join a team this year and she spends all her free time practicing. Her dedication to the team and sport is really something else.  I am so proud of her and all her accomplishments.  You rock kid!

ImageI have been collecting this paper for some time.  I used svg’s for the jersey and basketball kindly shared with me by Kymberley Wragg-Machmer.

Same but Different for March

I really like the layouts I complete that remind me of really important moments in life.  This “Night Before Christmas” book was read to me by my mom before bed on Christmas eve and I in turn have read it to both my girls and now my grandbaby.  It’s layouts like this that really excite me when I am scrapbooking as I am creating a permanent memory of something that was very important to me.  The price on the book is .49 cents so it is very old and treasured.

I entered the Same but Different challenge that is hosted by some of the ladies at Crop Circles.  March month was hosted by Rhea.  I love when she hosts it because she is very artistic and you never know what will be in that envelope.  I usually struggle with these challenges because I never know what to do with the items I am sent.  This time I decided to make the items fit the layout instead of making the layout fit the items.  We were given a piece of cream lace, a journalling tag and a piece of burgandy paper.  I inked the paper with black ink and used it for the punched frame around the pics, I used the lace to tie inside the button and I punched the tag with 1 3/4 circle punch and used it inside the clock.

Another Easter Card

I love my embossing folders for cards. For this one I embossed the card stock and them just dragged the ink pads gently over the embossing. Of course, that cute little owl is a Stampin Up punch (my absolute favorite item in my entire scrapbooking / card making stash). I made his 3-D wings from the cup cake punch from Stampin Up. Just had to fold the card stock and not cut through the folded edge. I love all my Stampin Up punches and look forward to getting many more!

Easter Card

I made this card using a technique I read about on Pinterest. I stamped the butterflies on the card and colored them with white crayon. I then dragged 2 different color ink pads across the card stock. I cleaned all the ink off the card with a paper towel. The ink came off the areas I had colored with crayon but stayed on the other areas. Quite a nice effect and very easy.
